This fantastic white wine comes from Rene Barbier. It is a blend of mainly white Grenache and Macebo and comes from a small vineyard of 5.8 hectares subdivided into 4 plots and this makes on average between 6000-7000 bottles max. The grapes have had 12 months of education with natural yeasts of the grapes with oak barrels of 12000 liters (foudres) and then 6 months in stainless steel and then 6-12 months bottle aging. In the coming years this white wine will be completely released with notes of honey, minerals and spring flowers. Spicy, velvety, nutty and complex with a great finish. One of the few true white wines that has become more beautiful, spicy and mineral with the years. Nice tannins and a pleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. Famous and very scarce. The Nelin from the Priorat is made by the quirky Frenchman Rene Barbier who is also the creator of the now cult wines Clos Mogador, Manyettes and Espectacle. These are also available at Grandcruwijnen.nl.
Luis Gutiérrez of the Wine Advocate writes about the Nelin "This is one of the best whites from Priorat" and now the Nelin is already one of the best white wines in Spain.
