The La Spinetta Casanova Riserva comes from Tuscany from a 45Ha vineyard located on a calcareous soil with an ocean-based outlet located at an altitude of 250 meters in a south-facing position. The Sangiovese grapes are harvested manually in crates of 15 kg and fermentation and soaking takes place in patented rotating stainless steel yeast tanks (same as they make the wines in Piedemonte). The wines are aged in French oak for 24 months. The wine is not further clarified or flashed. This Casanova Chinati Reserva from the beautiful winery La Spinetta has a very civilized Sangiovese expression with fresh leather tones and a rare minerality for red wine. Cherry soaked with cherry kernel wood tones. Very harmonious in structure with a perfect fusion of alcohol, acids and tannins. This is despite or rather thanks to the clenched power of the noble and polished tannins. Varied, tasteful finale and a real great length. A great wine that is reasonably priced.
