Bodegas Naia is located in La Seca, in the heart of the historic Rueda wine region. Also known as the Grand Cru of the Rueda area. The vineyard is owned by Bodegas Naia and covers 23.5 hectares. The winery has vines from 80 to 130 years old. Due to the location of the vineyards, the rich soil, an exceptionally good climate and old vines, winemaker Laura Sanz is in perfect condition to make the best wines of the region. The wines have a complex, terroir-driven character with refreshing aromas.

The grapes used in this wine are grown on pre-phylioxera vines over a century old. The harvest is applied manually. An initial maceration of the grape is carried out in a cooling chamber. The skins of the verdejo grapes soak at a low temperature, before being pressed and fermented in wooden casks. During this fermentation process the yeast cells are stirred, this is called batonnage. This makes the wine fuller and rounder. The wine is aged for 7 months in 100% French oak barrels.

The Bodegas Naia Fermentado and Barricca is produced in a limited edition. Of the 2015 only 13,000 bottles have been produced. Laura Sanz, winemaker at Bodegas Naia, says of this wine: Original and groundbreaking, it has very little to envy from the best white wines in the world

The Naia Fermentado and Barricca is straw yellow in color, with intense aromas of lemon, peach, apricot and notes of fennel. A complex nose that further evaluates in the glass. Balanced and unctuous in the mouth. A wine with a pleasant structure and a full mouthfeel. A maximum expression of the Verdejo grape.

This wine is only released in the top years and is available very limited.
