The absolute winner of the Rothschild / Mondavi house from Nappa Valley. Opus One from Nappa Valley is one of the very best vintages and can be compared to a top Pauillac. This vintage from Opus One has a great purity with fruit with black currants, blueberries, dark chocolate, fresh herbs. Full bodied with refined tannins. The wine ends with a long, layered creamy finish. The wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec. This estate has been making great Cabernet-based wines for the past 10 years ... but this is surely the best to date. Drink it in the next 30+ years.
