The Villa Lorren Amarone delle Valpolicella is an Amarone with a unique price / quality ratio. The grapes are dried in controlled warehouses until January. During this drying process, the grapes lose around 30% of their moisture and 25% of their weight. The grapes are pressed in January, after which the fermentation takes place in steel vessels under a controlled temperature of 15ºC. The wine then ripens for 24 months on oak. The wine is ruby red in the glass with hints of black currant, cherry, chocolate and raisins in the nose. The wine is sultry but not excessive in alcohol and the wine has a surprising freshness. This is an excellent Amarone at a very attractive price. The Villa Loren fits perfectly with rich pasta dishes, game and grilled or stewed red meat and also with mature cheeses.
