Augustus Chardonnay is one of Spain's protagonists when it comes to Chardonnay, also the showpiece of this bodega and is a bit of Spanish Burgundy, but they also make Bordeaux-like wines with a Spanish twist. This is one of the few 100% pure Cabernet Franc wines from the Iberian Peninsula. The plantation of this grape was used for the former blending wines of this domain. It has been vinified separately for several years now, with very positive results. Only 5300 bottles.
The grapes are harvested in September. Fermentation of about a month, at 22 ° C, of which between 10 and 13 days with the skins. Aged in 300L French oak barrels for about 16 months.
This Augustus Cabernet Franc has a very deep intense color. We smell the typical Ripe Cabernet Franc aromas with notes of leather, coffee and ripe red berries after some rolling. Firm on the palate with a freshness that gives the wine structural length. Balanced use of wood. A Cabernet Franc that is not at all of the paprika and astringent type. We recommend decanting this wine when it is young.
