Cigliuti is a small, charming family business in the Serraboella cru that produces great quality Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto wines. Due to the small production and large brand awareness it is difficult to get!
The Barbaresco Serraboella comes from a single vineyard located on the southwest of around 60 years old. The old vines are planted in limestone soils. The mineral composition of the wine is very much reflected in the nose and mouth with subtle notes of sulfur and flint. Those dry sensations (due to the lime) makes for a perfect blend of vibrant cherries and wild berries. Subsequently, the acids and tannins are released: in the young wine these are still somewhat separate from the wine and therefore prominent. About six years after the harvest, the harmony begins to become clearer and the mouthfeel becomes more refined. Beautiful spices, cocoa, liquorice, cherries. undergrowth and cloves blend into a very well structured Barbaresco with a tremendous finish. In his early years, we recommend decanting the wine.
