In 1980, Nicky and Gaby Hahn bought a horse and cattle farm in the highlands of Monterey County. The farms, Smith and Hook, were the home of grazing cattle for many generations and were then recently transformed into premium vineyards. When they bought domains the first (estate) Montery County Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were harvested for wine.
This Cabernet Sauvignon an Monterey county is a beautiful and sturdy Cabernet. This Smith & Hook has a sparkling bouquet with notes of mocha, coffee, roasted oak, vanilla, black currant and licorice. Vast flavors and the round, viscous mouthfeel supported by a concentrated tannin structure with a smooth, lush finish.
