The Cabernet Sauvignon from Phelps is a blend of a classic burgundy and contains 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 years in 48% new French and American oak. The wine exhibits a deep ruby / purple color, along with sweet, smoky black currants, cigar / tobacco and woodland characteristics. This medium-bodied, elegant, rich wine can now be drunk, but can also be stored for 20+ years, but well that is actually a shame. This wine is very nice to enjoy, but can also be served with a nice piece of fried beef or veal.
