The La Spinetta Vigneto Bordini Barbaresco comes from the Bordini vineyard located in Neive at an altitude of 270 with a southern location lying on a calcareous soil. The vines are on average 30 years old. In the glass, this Barberesco has the typical light red of the Nebbiolo grape. This wine is very aromatic with floral notes of blueberry, roses, raspberry, violets and lavender supported by garden herbs such as sage and mint. The wine has silky tannins and is beautifully elegant. The long finish is divine.
The alcoholic fermentation takes place in rotofermentators under controlled temperature for 6-8 days. The malolactic fermentation takes place in French barriques (50% new - 50% 1st) where the wine will mature for 20-22 months. The wine is transferred to stainless steel barrels where it will rest for 3 months before finally maturing in the bottle for another 12 months. No filtering nor clearance.
