Telmo Rodriguez produced the As Caborcas wine for the first time in 2010 and immediately received rave reviews including 94 parking points and 95 penin points. He only makes around 2500 bottles of this, so this is a very scarce and unique wine. The Caborcas comes from a 2.5 hectare vineyard at 550 meters above sea level. The vines are only 50 to 70 years old and root on a granite plateau on the banks of the Bibei River. Telmo is a supporter of having several types of grapes in a vineyard and this vineyard contains a mix of old varieties, Mencia, Souson, Garnacha, Merenzao, Godello and Brancellao. The wine has a light red color. The nose is dominated by red fruit such as cherries, raspberry and even a hint of blood oranges and licorice. In the mouth we still taste the beautiful fresh red fruit with a hint of rurality. The wine has a great length and nice fresh acids and beautiful aftertaste.
