The Aalto is hot and it's not for nothing. Great wine for those who love a full, robust, complex wine. The Aalto has a clear color with good acidity. The year 2017 was a perfect wine year. Not so much for the winemaker, because the frost caused yields in the Ribera in some cases even 40% less but the quality is very good because after the frost period in the spring it was a perfect growing season so the remaining grapes received the full injection of the beautiful terroir.

Aalto has an extensive taste and is medium to full bodied. The nose has intense aromas of fruit with light wood in the background. The wine is full and complex but without compromising freshness. It has the typical flavors of a (good) Tempranillo, such as licorice and black fruit and roasted coffee, spices and tobacco that remain beautifully balanced by an impeccable wood aging.

The Aalto is made from 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) from very old vines between the ages of 40 and 80. The Aalto is fermented in tapered stainless steel tanks, after which the wine remains in oak barrels for 18 months, 50% of which are new French oak and 50% for one to three years of French and American oak.
