Francois Milkulski, Polish name, and his wife Marie - Pierre were free to create something completely new in 1992 when she started Domaine Mikulski. After more than 7 years of experience with his uncle Pierre Boillot from Domaine Boillot in Gevrey-Chambertin, he was ready for a new challenge. The most striking is their label on the bottle. This stems from the following tradition. If the winemaker takes a bottle from the cellar for his own use, he writes the name on the bottle with a piece of chalk. Mikulski has now implemented this as standard. Francois Mikulski and his wife are very concerned about their vineyards and can be found there daily. They maintain the traditional Burgundy style. They love pure, minerality, and elegance. This is clearly reflected in their wines. To achieve this, he also uses only 20% new oak casks for fermentation on cask and wine maturation. Moreover, he does not use artificial yeast and he filters the wine very lightly.

This Meursalt "Poruzots" from Francois Mikulski is made from 100% chardonnay grapes. After harvest, the wine is aged on oak for a period of 12 months and then the wine returns in parts to 228 liter barrels for 6 to 10 months. The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Les Poruzots is nicely defined on the nose and has a fine minerality. On the palate, the Poruzots have a lively, lime-like entry with a fine lemon-like acidity. This is balanced, charming with a hint of sorbet. This wine will only get better in the coming years.
