Some of the world's most beautiful white wines are extracted in Puligny-Montrachet. The most famous and probably best of all comes from the field Le Montrachet. Half of this vineyard is in Puligny and the other half in the municipality of Chassagne. In addition to Le Montrachet, Puligny also houses the Grands Cru Chevalier-Montrachet, Batard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet. The wines from Puligny are particularly refined, with beautiful hues and a high degree of complexity.
The Chardonnay vineyard (or rather vineyard) of Chassagne-Montrachet Village Blanc is located on the border of Batard Montrachet and for that reason it is technically not a Grandcru Batard but these are therefore the 5-fold in price so the wine lover must definitely keep an eye on this Montrachet. The problem is that this version is certainly not made every year and, as is known in Burgundy, this vineyard is even smaller than a football field. The Colin Chassagna Montrachet wine has a lot of finesse and elegance and a small fat that makes it a typical yet elegant Chassagne Montrachtet. Beautiful green and yellow fruit, white flowers and a hint of lime. Everything perfectly balanced and stylish. Marc Colin is seen as one of the best producers of Burgundy. Neal Martin's statement in the Wine Advocate is telling "Okay, I'm going to say it. Shoot me if I'm wrong. Domaine Marc Colin are currently making some of the greatest whites in Burgundy
