The Salice Salentino is a delicious red quality wine made by winery Mocavero. The winery is located in the Italian region of Apulia (Puglia). Salice Salentino is one of the South's best-known DOCs, renowned for its distinctive and powerful wines. The wine owes that character to two things: the warm, southern climate and the special, 'own' grapes of the region, negroamaro and malvasia. An ideal combination for a nice sturdy glass of wine, but also with the guarantee of sufficient fruit. The wine is made in a rather elegant, not too hard and dry style, so that it is suitable for enjoying delicious young. The fermentation and the first part of the maturation take place on stainless steel tanks. The wine is then rounded by aging in wooden barrels. This produces a beautiful classic, elegant red wine, a real food wine.

This wine is made from 80% Negroamaro , 20% Malvasia Nera or Lecce grapes and has a beautiful ruby red color. The nose has the wine peppery notes, pleasant chocolate and spices, black cherries. Nice sultry fragrance, spicy and pleasant.
The flavor is beautifully full and powerful, juicy and nice and firm. Beautiful fruit in the taste, with cherries and prunes, spices, southern and warm. The Salice Salentino is a full and powerful red wine and an excellent accompaniment to grilled pork chops, mature cheeses, but also dried fruit and walnuts.

Apulia, also known as Puglia, the elongated region that is the heel of the Italian boot, is, together with the Veneto and Sicily, Italy's largest producer of wine. In the past, many blends came from here, which were often used in other parts of Italy, but also abroad, to strengthen their own wines. In recent years, Apulia has increasingly focused on the production of quality wine and quantity is no longer the first priority. The fact of Apulia as 'the wine cellar of Italy' is therefore obsolete. Due to its favorable location, the predominantly hilly landscape and the good soil qualities, which vary from calcareous and clay-containing to sandy, excellent wines can be made in Apulia.
