The Château Faugères Grand Cru Classé Saint Emilio is a highly polished Bordeaux with silky tannins that are integrated and creamy in structure. The wine is made from the older vines on the border of Saint-Émilion and Castillon. Château Faugères 2018 is a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, all still aged on 50% new oak.
Lots of blueberry and blackberry character. a wine where you will find pure fruit. It is already very tasty with a lot of structure but could certainly use another four or five years in the bottle to improve even further. Full, round and pleasant, but with elegance and purity. Finding a Grand Cru Classé Saint Emilion for this price and certainly this 2018 with its very high ratings will be a challenge. Read the reviews of the international wine critics under the Appendix tab. Piece by piece praise.
