The Proprietary Red Continuum is a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot. In the glass, this killer is colored deep garnet purple. On the nose an incredible array of seductive aromas of violet, lavender, rosehip, cherry, currant, dark chocolate, cigar box plus hints of bay leaves and a sort of crushed wet slate. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with vibrant black fruit fueled by red fruit, spice and mineral notes. It is framed with firm, gritty, super ripe tannins and ends with fantastic fragrance and freshness. This is (once again) a masterpiece by Tim Mondavi and his team and is a wine that can age gracefully without any problem. If you want to drink it in the short term, we recommend that you decant it, so that the wine can show its true character. You can keep this wine for at least another 30+ years.
