Some of the world's finest white wines are produced in Puligny-Montrachet. The most famous and probably best of all comes from the field Le Montrachet. Half of this vineyard is located in Puligny and the other half within the municipality of Chassagne. In addition to Le Montrachet, Puligny also hosts the Grands Cru Chevalier-Montrachet, Batard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet. The wines of Puligny are particularly refined, with beautiful shades and a high degree of complexity.
The Puligny-Montrachet le Trezin has a pronounced clarity on the nose: fresh lime and Granny Smith apples and a little lime/mineral. The taste is very well balanced with great acidity. On the palate, the Trezin's keely (lime, mineraly) finish typical of this Premier Cru is very nice. Marc Colin is considered one of the best producers of Burgundy. Neal Martin's statement in the Wine Advocate is telling: "Okay, I'm going to say it. Shoot me if I'm wrong. Domaine Marc Colin are currently making some of the greatest whites in Burgundy
