Remi Jobard, son of Charles Jobard and nephew of François Jobard, was inspired by these legendary brothers and eventually took over the helm of this remarkable estate. And, as is so often the case in Burgundy, a famous surname is associated with an enviable range of vineyards. When tasting these wines, it immediately becomes clear how amazing his Bourgognes are. Not surprising given that all its Burgundy plots are directly adjacent to Villages Meursault 1er Cru Meursault. Currently, the domain includes 8 hectares of vineyards. No herbicides or perticides had been used since 1994, but Remi decided to take the quality level to an even higher level by switching to organic viticulture. Since 2011, all vineyards are also certified organic. In addition, he applies the longest fermentation of anyone in Meursault, namely 2 months. He even moves the barrels outside where it is colder so that the fermentation lasts as long as possible. The result is refinement, elegance and enormous storage potential.
The Domaine Rémi Jobard Meursault Les Narvaux is a 100% Chardonnay coming from an organically certified vineyard. The vineyard is almost 70 years old. The yield for this Meursault is extremely low (even by Burgundy standards). Jovard's Narvaux is a stylish, elegant wine with notes of green apple, pear, mint and subtle hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a satiny texture and a very precise finish. In summary, a beautiful elegant Meursault with a great drinking window.
