Paul Cluver is a household name with all his wines and is a grandmaster in mainly white wines such as Chardonnay (who does not know the Seven Flags), Sauvignon blanc and Riesling and of course the beautiful almost burgundy looking Pinot Noir. This Sauvignon Blanc from the Elgin Appelatie is crisp and fresh and you immediately taste (as in the Loire for example) that this is a wine of a so-called cool climate. The Cluver Sauvignon Blanc has a fresh nose with notes of gooseberry and passion fruit. Fine acidity in the mouth and a soft, creamy mouthfeel due to the maturation. The wine is made from 92% Sauvignon Blanc and 8% Sémillon
In 2014, this wine won the title of 'Best Sauvignon Blanc in the World up to £ 15' at the World Wine Awards. Decanter World Wine Awards 2015 - Regional Trophy Winner - Gold Medal (2014)
