Yealands makes wines in Marlborough on the northeast side of the South Island. The vineyard for Southbank is located far inland where the Waihopai River flows into the Wairau River. The South Bank Sauvignon Blanc is a soft, aromatic variant of the famous Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The Soutbank uses state-of-the-art wine vinification. The grapes are picked optimally ripe and the skins are soaked for at least 12 hours. Then the vinification and maturation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel cuvees. In the glass, the Southbank Marlborough Sauvignon blanc is pale yellow with a green hint. Expressive in the nose with gooseberries, boxwood and mowed grass. In the mouth, this crispy dusty sauvignon blanc has a soft attack, juicy with sufficient freshness and a good aftertaste.
