This delicious Prugneto doc Sangiovese di Romagna is made from 100% Sangiovese , and therefore has a perfect expression of this grape in Romagna. Il Prugneto is a separate vineyard, beautifully situated on the hills that form the foothills of the Apennines, the place where winemaker Celita herself lives. It is a vineyard with a special history, because it was the first vineyard to be acquired by the owners of the very dedicated quality winery Poderi dal Nespoli . Sangiovese gets a special tension and freshness here, always in combination with a light firmness. This is nicely rounded off by maturing 40% of the wine on barriques, with the rest getting no wood, because the fruit is also very important.

This powerful red wine is sultry and warm on the nose with aromas of fine fruit (plum and cherry), licorice and vanilla. The taste experience is intense with a certain freshness, partly due to the cherries and plums. The wine is lively, firm and juicy with good acidity.

The Poderi dal Nespoli vineyards are located in the Bidente Valley, with territorial features that are unique and almost magical. The exposition of the vineyards and the geography of the valley, which keep the vineyards well ventilated, contribute to a microclimate that is particularly favorable. The wines obtained - in particular Sangiovese - are the most authentic expression of this great terroir. For the Nespoli winery, cultivating the land means loving the land. For this reason, respecting the environment is very natural to them. Nespoli is committed to minimizing the impact wine production has on the environment. This is done, among other things, by recycling heat & water, and by reducing noise pollution. In addition, 95% of the energy used by the winery is generated using solar panels.

This wine tastes delicious at a dinner with more luxurious pasta dishes such as fresh pasta with meat sauce, ravioli filled with meat and rosemary. Also delicious with meat dishes (grilled prime rib) and with matured cheeses.
