It returns every year. From the third Thursday of November, the Beaujolais Nouveau (or 'Primeur') will be available again. The grapes of this extremely young, light wine come from Beaujolais, east of the French Massif Central (high altitude area of southern France, consisting of mountains and plateaus). The Beaujolais is part of Burgundy and is the most southerly wine region. The Gamay grape comes from Beaujolais. These grapes are used to make Beaujolais Nouveau. The grapes are a bit lighter in color and more elegant in taste. The special thing about this wine is that the grapes are picked only a few months before the wine is released. Beaujolais Nouveau is a light wine and therefore ideal to combine with light dishes.

Domaine de Rochemure is located in the village of Le Perréon, in the heart of the Beaujolais Villages appellation. In this friendly hilly landscape in the Saône plain between Mâcon in the north and Villefranche sur Saône in the south, Philippe Vermorel runs his wine estate. Philippe is the 5th generation of winemakers within the Vermorel family, who have learned the tricks of the trade from father to son. At Rochemure they make a delicious Beaujolais with the typical fresh, clean nose. The wine has a bright red color with red berries in the nose, young cherries and slightly dried herbs. Fresh, full-bodied taste, bursting with red fruit with an elegant, soft aftertaste.
