The vineyards are located in the Sierra de la Calderina in Montes de Toledo. This region belongs to Castilla and is a Spanish Geographical Indication for Vino de la Tierra wines in the Autonomous Region of Castilla-La Mancha known for its wines with excellent value for money

The vineyard is located on Pleistocene soils, formed by pebbles and gravel of alluvial origin, of a quartzitic nature, as well as shale and sandstone. The geological and climatic conditions of these areas are ideal for the cultivation of these old vines because here it is necessary to work through the vine and take effort to root deeply. The climate here is characterized by great differences and extremes with hot and dry summers and very cold winters with little rain. For these reasons, among other things, the vineyard hardly needs any care, which makes organic cultivation possible and it is not surprising that certified organic wine cultivation started here.

Bodegas Zetian's consultant and oenologist is the well-known winemaker Victoria Ordonez - also known as the "Queen of the Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel" but she also makes trips to other regions when she finds unique vineyards. A well-known example is the Pasajara Verdejo from the Rueda and now also this Zetian from La Mancha.

The Tempranillo grapes come from very old vines and are harvested manually with fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled low temperature of 22oC with a 15-day maceration. The wine is then aged for 6 months in oak barrels.

This fruity very accessible Zetian is fresh and ruby red in the glass. Fruity on the nose, with plums and strawberries infused with some smoky notes. The oak is very well integrated. Nice, long, pleasant aftertaste. This is a delicious fruity red wine with a modest alcohol percentage of 13%. A delicious red wine to drink and the Spaniards like to drink these wines slightly chilled. The wine is also perfect with red meat, stews with meat, a BBQ and Pizza. The wine is certified Organic and Vegan.
