The Barbier-Meyer family makes 2 types of Eiua de Vies (or Spanish Cognac, Brand or Grappa), namely a version made from the grapes from the Clos Mogador vineyard which were not found to be suitable for the top wine and this in the second selection in the winery. grapes with a beautiful Eau de View .
But in addition to this version, a very small edition is made which is produced from the droessem / lees of their top wine Clos Mogador. The Clos Mogador's droosem is so beautiful and aromatic that Rene Barbier just couldn't resist pressing this long, oak-matured droosem.
From the solid particles that settle at the bottom of barrels during fermentation and aging, a distillate of great beauty is distilled. Everything that you can find in the Clos Mogador wine is enhanced in the Eau de Vie but we prefer to call it a Spanish Cognac or Spanish Grappa of the highest level. The La Quinta Esséncia dels Llops DISTILLED FROM CLOS MOGADOR WINE is distilled by the famous Holstein distillery
The Essencia is very rounded, finely aromatic, with notes of nuts, spices and even the chalky slate notes for which the wine is also so famous. Suitable as an aperitif, but especially after a meal with a good conversation partner or to meditate.
We can always include a few bottles of this top product (and some olive oil ) in our annual allocation of Clos Mogador wines.
