North British - Caramel Apple Sauce Single Cask 1991 27 Year Old Whisky
Type | Spirits, Whiskey |
Country/Region | United Kingdom |
Alcohol | 46% |
A fresh yet complex Whisky patiently matured for twenty seven years in a single sherry butt.
Fresh green apple- pencil shavings and sugar almonds divulge this dram as a grain whisky- yet much more complex wood imparted aromas are abound. Demerara sugar and cinnamon coated almonds develops into more resinous maple syrup and caramel notes. The flavour is mouth-wateringly sweet. There is an abundance of apple- toffee and caramel flavours. Rich Normandy cider- caramel sauce bountifully applied to bramley apples and rich maple leaf candy all occur on the palate. Expect lingering sweet wood tannins to endure on the finish.
