The first release from Sailor's Home- The Haven - A Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey- triple pot distilled- a mash bill of malted and unmalted Irish barley and oats
The original Sailor's home was built in 1856 to provide welcome and sanctuary to seafarers on their journeys - a haven. This particular expression is matured in American Bourbon casks and then finished in Spanish Oloroso Sherry for a rich- fruity dram.
Nose:
Honeyed oak with green grapes and warm spice
Palate:
A creamy mouthfeel is accompanied by pot spices- roasted almonds and vanilla
Finish:
Brown sugar and ripe black cherry and berries to finish
