Gaja is a family winery dating from 1859 in the Langhe district of Piedmont in
Italy. Angelo Gaja joined the firm in 1961 and is credited with developing
techniques that have revolutionized winemaking in Italy.
His wines are so prestigious that he has become Italy’s most famous wine
pioneer. Although the headquarters are still based in Barbaresco, there are now
18 different wines produced from vineyards in Piedmont and Tuscany.
