Feitoria is an old Portuguese word for winery and the Lavradores operation is a
group of 15 farmers from across the Douro pooling resources to make some really
rather impressive wines centrally in Sabrosa under the leadership of winemaker
Paolo Ruao. The Tinto is from a typical assemblage of Douro grapes - Touriga
Nacional and Franca, Tinta Roriz and Barocca and Tinto Cao. No oak and natural
fermentation in tank. A delicious and moreish red wine from the Douro. Smooth
and elegant, it shows plenty of wild bramble fruit and ripe cherry, a balanced
acidity, soft tannins and a fine and very tasty finish.
