Villa Sparina was founded by the Moccagatta family in the 1970's in the hamlet
of Monterotondo. It comprises of 100 hectares of land, 70 of which are
cultivated with local grapes for the production of Gavi and Barbera wine.
The unique and eye-catching bottle shape corresponds to the Roman amphorae found
in the truffle-rich grounds. Montej, named after the locality, is the baby
brother of the Monferrato Barbera, coming from fourteen-year-old vines, with a
little Merlot added for extra juiciness.
