ERA IGT Umbria Sangiovese, our interpretation of the most widespread grape variety in the Trasimeno Lake area, is produced for the first time with the 2007 harvest.

The name was suggested by Mount Era which, with its harmonious and rounded shape, dominates the vineyards and the estate.

In Greek mythology Hera, wife of Zeus and queen of Olympus, is the goddess of marriage and fertility.

The vineyards from which it comes are all with high planting density, with about 5,500 plants per hectare and yields not exceeding 1.5 kg per plant.

Maceration lasts fifteen days in contact with the skins.

Era then passes a five-month aging period in tonneaux where the malolactic fermentation takes place and then rests for another six months in the bottle.

Ruby red in color tending to garnet, the nose has notes of dry leaves and humus, followed by red berries and nutmeg.

On the palate it is perceived a pleasant sapidity, firm tannins and a long finish.

We recommend pairing with red meat and cheeses.
