The Conductor is a succulent and savoury merlot. On the nose there is ripe plum and red currant. The wines shows fleshy red berry fruits with notes of mushroom and dried herbs. It is medium bodied wine with fine savoury tannins which give the wine structure and length.Philip Shaw, multi award winning winemaker, has been producing top quality wines in Australia for over four decades and approaches each aspect of winemaking with a healthy mix of innovation and unrelenting attention to detail. Philip Shaw wines are made only from fruit grown in Philips own 46-hectare Koomooloo vineyard a cool climate site rising to an altitude of 900m. Orange is one of the coolest and highest regions in Australia.

Shaw purchased the vineyard in 1988 and planted the first grapes the following year. The Shaw philosophy is that winemaking begins in the vineyard and so many viticultural practices, including leaf plucking, fruit thinning, harvesting and sorting is carried out by hand. The wines offer great elegance and purity of varietal character.
