This is one of the most exemplary expressions of sparkling wine we’ve tried this year and upon first taste more than one of us likened it to a young vintage Krug… not bad for less than £20!

The wine speaks for itself but it’s not by chance that it’s so good. Only the first press juice (purest and best quality) is used in the production and it then receives three years of lees ageing before disgorgement. This is more than three times the legal requirement for MCC,  and double the length of time required for Champagne.

As for the taste, it’s opulent and rich with aromas of hot buttered toast, owing to the extra lees ageing, yet with an exquisitely finessed mousse and persistent pétillance. Being a vintage wine it has tremendous ageing potential as well.
