A brilliant silver shimmers within the pale straw coloured wine, akin to the first glints of morning sun reflected on the surface of a calm ice blue lake. Aromas of yellow plum and white peach are elicited from the glass alongside a subtle note of vanilla. Ten months of barrel age in 500 litre 2nd fill French Oak imparts an elegant richness. Jane Anson describes the wine as having a real sense of place and imagines wild flowers growing amongst the vines, leaving their trace in the grass. She scored it 90/100, a fine achievement considering this is the first vintage Aristea have produced.
