Hecht & Bannier, Bandol Rouge, France 2012
|Grapes||Grenache, Chenin Blanc, Cinsault, Mourvedre|
The multiple terroir mix within this wine offers a full and intricate experience for the palate. The depth obtained from the limestone scree found in the vineyard, characterising wines from Chenin de l’argile, is coupled with the the crisp freshness of the costal region of Sainte Anne d’Evenos, whilst the balance struck between the depth and breadth of Mourvedre, the calmer nature of the Grenache grape and the rich and complex character derived from the low yielding old vine Cinsault results in a wine that highlights the potential of Bandol to produce wines of great depth and harmony.
