The wine boasts amplitude, something seriously lacking in what was produced by some of its neighbours and peers in 2013. It is satisfyingly plump and juicy, redolent with notes of cassis, damson and bramble fruit alongside a complement of air dried tobacco leaf and slate on the persistent finish.

Perfect to drink now but will keep for at least two years.
