Basa, made by relentlessly innovative Spanish winemaker Telmo Rodriguez, derives its name from red counterpart Baso, itself named after the country’s ancient ‘baso'(goblet)-shaped bushvines. Basa is from Rueda, source of many of Spain’s finest whites. Telmo fights the corner here for local varieties Verdejo and Viura. The succulent result is packed with crisp, clean flavours of yellow plums and white peaches.
Basa was also the house wine at the world famous El Bulli for 9 years, during that time the Three Michelin Star restaurant was voted best restaurant in the world a record five times by Restaurant Magazine.
