Tahblik is one of Australia's most historic wineries. It was founded in 1860 and is now home to five generations of the Purbrick family. They specialise in Rhone varieties such as Marsanne, Viognier and Syrah. Tahbilk is known the world over for its Marsanne and every year they keep about 30% of the wine to release six years once it's matured a bit more. There are some serious spiced honeyed, toasty, floral notes, a lot of peach, pear and a touch of cream on the long finish! If kept properly this wine will easily last 15 years in the bottle.
Food Pairing : the extra spice and concentrated fruit are a lovely counterpoint to Thai and Vietnamese cuisine.
