The creation of Captain Morgan Black Spiced Rum is deeply rooted in a legendary
episode of Caribbean history. The source of inspiration for the producers was
the year 1688, when Sir Henry Morgan, the legendary captain, was buried on the
shores of Port Royal Harbour. Immediately after his burial, an earthquake struck
Jamaica, causing his coffin to be carried away from the grave into the sea. To
this day, the coffin remains unaccounted for and myths abound that the ghost of
Captain Morgan still roams the Caribbean seas.



This mystical story is reflected not only in the characterful taste of Captain

feature is the translucent image on the back of the empty bottle, showing
Captain Henry Morgan's coffin and skeleton, printed on the inside of the label.
