The Depaz distillery, located in Saint Pierre, Martinique, is one of the most
historic distilleries in the West Indies, founded in 1651 at the instigation of
one of the first governors after French colonization. Local pride and
international recognition characterize the products of Depaz. Despite the
destruction caused by the eruption of Mont Pele in 1902, which included the
production site, the distillery continued the tradition after reconstruction in
1917.

The Depaz Rhum Agricole XO Grand Reserve, made from freshly pressed sugar cane
juice instead of the usual molasses, reflects Martinique's specialty in the
field of Rhum Agricole. The sugar cane is grown on the company's own land,
favored by ideal local conditions - sufficient water and fertile volcanic soil.
The XO Grand Reserve, known for its ageing period of at least 12 years in
selected oak barrels, has a golden yellow color and a mild taste with a
recognizable sweetness of sugar cane juice, which makes it a world-famous rum.
