This rum is the latest of the three masterpieces by Francisco Fernandez Perez,
known as "Don Pancho". Senor Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernandez Perez, who has
been active in the rum world for over 60 years, began his career at Havana Club
in Cuba, where he worked as a master blender and confidant of Fidel Castro.
After moving to Panama in the early 1990s, he developed Ron Abuelo with Varela
Hermanos.
Aged for 18 years in carefully selected, untoasted American oak barrels from
Kentucky, this rum was created using the best barrels from Don Pancho's
warehouse to ensure the highest quality. Thanks to this meticulous selection and
the long ageing process, which gives the rum exceptional depth and complexity,
it is an outstanding pleasure.
