This rum is the latest of the three masterpieces by Francisco Fernandez Perez,
known as "Don Pancho". Senor Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernandez Perez, who has
been active in the rum world for over 60 years, began his career at Havana Club
in Cuba, where he worked as a master blender and confidant of Fidel Castro.
After moving to Panama in the early 1990s, he developed Ron Abuelo with Varela
Hermanos.

Despite its comparatively young age compared to its two brothers - the 18 and
30-year-old Origenes - it shows impressive maturity and depth. The Origenes
Reserva 8 Years is beautifully balanced, multi-layered, fruity and not too
sweet. It was matured in ex-bourbon barrels made from American white oak. All
the aromas you would expect from a good rum are present in Origenes. Nothing is
too much and nothing is too little.
