Advertising is not a high priority at the small Drappier family winery. The
Drappiers want to convince above all through quality and not through expensive
advertising. Michel Drappier, who today runs the winery, which was founded in
1808 by his great-grandfather, focuses particularly on the good compatibility of
the champagne. For Michel, it is particularly important to greatly reduce the
use of sulfur.
The name Drappier Grande Sendree was given due to a transcription error, as a
result of which this cuvee is now spelled with "s".
Champagne Grande Sendree is made from first pressing, which allows the juices to
be vinified by gravity. 35% of the wine is aged in wooden barrels, followed by
aging in bottle for 7 years. This noble drop is sold in bottles of Louis XV
style, which embodies the grape varieties and terroirs.
Awards:
- 94/100 points Falstaff
- 98/100 points Wine Spectator
