Edradour, located in the picturesque town of Pitlochry in the Southern
Highlands, was purchased in 2002 by Andrew Symington of Signatory Vintage Ltd,
who had great vision for the distillery. Under his leadership, which is
characterized by innovative ideas, Edradour has built up an enthusiastic and
loyal fan base.
Since Symington took over the distillery, the brand has developed so well that
in 2018 the construction of a new, second distillery with two stills was
announced to meet the increasing demand. As production had to be increased, new
warehouses were also built to accommodate the additional volume of whisky.
This 20 year old bottling of Ballechin is a rare and heavily peated version of
Edradour, available in a small edition. The whisky has been fully matured in 1st
fill ex-bourbon casks. This small batch whisky is not chill-filtered, has a
natural color and is limited to 2016 bottles.
