Since its foundation in 1822, the Fonseca brand has stood for excellent port
wine and has established itself as a synonym for exceptional quality. With more
than two centuries of experience, Fonseca combines traditional winemaking skills
with a spirit of innovation and a deep understanding of port winemaking.
Production takes place in the renowned vineyards of the Douro Valley in
Portugal, considered one of the oldest and most prestigious wine regions in the
world. The unique terroir is characterized by steep slopes and mineral-rich
soils, which shape the taste of the port wines.
This elegant Fonseca Porto White Port is a cuvee of classic white wine grape
varieties that thrive on the upper terraces of the Douro Valley in Portugal. It
combines the Boal (Bual), Arinto and Codega varieties, which give the port wine
freshness, structure and aromatic depth. After the harvest, it matures for two
to three years in oak barrels, where it develops its velvety fullness and
powerful body.
It has a maturation potential of around two years, but can also be enjoyed
young.
