The traditional family business R.L. Seale has been producing first-class
Barbados rum since 1820 and is one of the oldest trading houses on the island.
Richard Seale, the current master distiller, is considered one of the most
innovative rum experts in the Caribbean. Known for his exceptional creations, he
combines traditional craftsmanship with modern know-how to produce perfectly
balanced and intensely flavored rums.

Exceptional Cask Series from the renowned Foursquare Distillery in Barbados
represents the rarest and highest quality rums, selected with the utmost care by
Master Distiller Richard Seale. This series is characterized by limited
bottlings that are only released when they meet Richard Seale's exceptionally
high standards. Each edition is a unique blend that combines innovative
approaches to the art of blending and barrel ageing.



The 25th edition of the Exceptional Cask Selection series, entitled Equipoise,
is produced by the renowned Foursquare distillery in Barbados, using a
combination of pot and column stills for distillation. The rum, which is based
on molasses, undergoes a carefully coordinated maturation process: one part is
initially aged for ten years in ex-bourbon barrels and then matures for a
further four years in Calvados barrels, while the other part spends the entire
maturation period of 14 years exclusively in bourbon barrels.



The name "Equipoise" (English for "balance") reflects the harmonious balance
achieved by both the complex maturation process and the finely tuned aroma of
the rum. This method gives Equipoise its unique character and emphasizes the
craftsmanship of the Foursquare distillery, which is valued worldwide for its
precise production of high-quality rums.
