With its Heering Cherry Liqueur, Denmark has brought a true liqueur rarity to
the world market for almost 200 years. This probably oldest cherry liqueur brand
in the world is now enjoyed in over 140 countries.Heering Cherry Liqueur is
based on small dark "Stevns" cherries, which are grown on the island of Zealand
around the village of Dalby and ripen on 25,000 trees every summer.
There, unusually calcareous soils provide optimal growing conditions.
A long ripening period makes them particularly fruity and aromatic. The cherries
are harvested in August and pressed together with the stones. This gives Heering
Cherry Liqueur its characteristic almond note. The raw mass is mixed with
alcohol and the taste is refined with a secret and exquisite mixture of spices.
The elaborate maceration is followed by the completion of the liqueur and a
three-year maturing period in oak barrels.
This edition was released to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Heering Cherry
