The Hennessy distillery is based in Cognac, France. The company was founded in
1765 by Richard Hennessy and is now run by the eighth generation. The officer
emigrated from Ireland to Cognac and founded the company "Jas Hennessy & Co" at
that time. The cognac of Richard Hennessy quickly gained a high reputation and
became known worldwide.For the production the own grown grapes from the region
of Cognac are used. After double distillation in copper stills, pure eaux-de-vie
is produced, which serves as the basis for the cognacs.
In 1870, the Hennessy X.X.O was created for the first time together with the
Hennessy X.O.
Selected eaux-de-vie were set aside by Master Blender Emile Fillioux and in 1871
the cognacs were released worldwide.
7th generation Master Blender, Yann Fillioux, revives this X.X.O in 2017.
