An important step that transforms bourbon into Tennessee whiskey is charcoal
mellowing. In this process, the freshly distilled whiskey slowly passes through
a three-meter-thick layer of charcoal made from sugar maple. Gentleman Jack is
characterized by this special filtering process, as well as by its unique
maturation process in barrels. Only our own barrels made from high-quality
American white oak are used for this. The insides of these barrels are carefully
"toasted" to caramelize the natural sugar of the wood. After maturing in
barrels, this Tennessee whiskey undergoes a second charcoal mellowing.
