Kopke Fine Ports are versatile wines, the result of a blend of young ports, from
different harvests, with a minimum aging of three years. The three different
styles - Tawny, Ruby and White - are ideal for first contact with Kopke ports.
Hand-picked at the optimum time, the grapes are peeled, crushed and transformed
into wine through careful maceration to extract their color, tannins and aromas,
which are enhanced by constant stirring during fermentation.
This is done in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 28 and
30°C until the right degree of sweetness (Baume) is reached.
At this point, grape brandy is added to produce the final fortified wine. The
result is a rich and aromatic wine with the perfect sweetness, obtained by
blending wines from different harvests with different degrees of maturity in
stainless steel and wood for at least 3 years.
